Parents of Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) are usually experiencing more stress than parents with normal children.

 

Resilience is the ability to adapt well in the face of adversity or a stressful life event. Parents of Children with SEN who participated in the Coping and Parental Competence (CPC) training program showed better mental health outcomes.

Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) may encounter different challenges in interpersonal relationships. Social emotional wellness is crucial for children’s health and development.

Helping young children to maintain positive interpersonal relationships would results in various aspects of positive development, such as character building, emotional management, social skills and further education.

This talk aimed to introduce social emotional wellness and its developmental outcomes among children and provide practical ways to enhance social emotional health in children with SEN and their parents.
